Confirmed under Oneiric Oncelot 11.10. It's very annoying: when I resume from suspend to RAM, xchat-gnome does not re-authenticate, and I can't join channels that require authentication.

However, it doesn't reauthenticate to nickserv when doing this. It does authenticate correctly when first starting up. This is annoying because freenode will discard private messages from unauthenticated users, and this is not very visible in xchat because the error comes into the server's tab, not the tab where the message was sent.
