2:1.13.3-0ubuntu6.1 xorg-server packages result in gnome-shell lockups

Bug description:
with a running gnome-shell 3.10 session, i upgraded to the latest
2:1.13.3-0ubuntu6.1 xorg-server packages. then noticed that gnome-
shell would periodically freeze up for almost a minute at a time.
downgrading those packages to 2:1.13.3-0ubuntu6 seems to have fixed
the issue, even without restarting gnome-shell
