Title:
even with thunderbird-gnome-support no attachments through SMB
  possible (gfs)

Status in “thunderbird” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Description: Ubuntu 9.04
  Release: 9.04

  thunderbird-gnome-support:
    Installed: 2.0.0.21+nobinonly-0ubuntu1.9.04.1
    Candidate: 2.0.0.21+nobinonly-0ubuntu1.9.04.1
    Version table:
   *** 2.0.0.21+nobinonly-0ubuntu1.9.04.1 0
          500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

We have an samba-share in our office. I often need Documents to mail
from there, so it would be nice, if Thunderbird canhHandle smb://
  /gfs-links after installing thunderbird-gnome-support.

When i try to attach an file from this share i just get:

  There was an error attachment
  smb://WAVECON;[email protected]/whatever/whereever/document.sxw.
Please check if you have access to the file.

And yes: i have access :-) My share was created with the gnome-wizzard
"Connect to Server" and works without any problems.

Before i tried using the gnome-wizzard and gfs i used autofs to access
my shares, which worked (of course) without any problems, because it
is a "normal" path in the eyes of thunderbird.
