To reproduce, try to load an external drive with plenty of stuff. I had the error with around 130 GB stuff each of the sizes 13 - 15 GB. Put the stuff in the Rubbish Bin and ask to delete it. Go to a folder in the external drive and look in the bottom, where the free space is show in figures. Update the window with intervals of seconds and you will see how the free space slow grows by 1 - 2 GB per two or tree seconds. Some time you will end up with all the free space, but it takes time.
