* Backport gdk-pixbuf loader for the webp format (lp: #1993789) -- Sebastien Bacher <[email protected]> Fri, 21 Oct 2022 10:43:09 +0200 ** Changed in: webp-pixbuf-loader (Ubuntu Jammy) Status: Fix Committed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to webp-pixbuf-loader in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1993789 Title: Backport the webp gdk-pixbuf loader to the LTS Status in webp-pixbuf-loader package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in webp-pixbuf-loader source package in Jammy: Fix Released Bug description: * Impact The webp format is getting more popular, having the gdk-pixbuf loader available in the archive would make easier for users to enable it (as a first step, we might also want to consider enable it by default) * Testcase 1. Install webp-pixbuf-loader 2. Use nautilus to browser a directory with webp images, they should be previewed 3. Start eog, select the open option and select a webp image, it should be displayed * Regression potential The package is new and not installed by default so it shouldn't have any impact. Install it then verify that it's not creating issues in nautilus, eog or other gtk based viewers loading icons. Other formats should keep working as before.
