On login, clicking on 2nd hard drive icon and/or Files (nautilus) there
is a long delay in anything opening. Sometimes I can open a Terminal,
sometimes I can't. When application windows do open promptly, they are
often "off-screen" visible from the Activities overview, but not on the
workspace itself when "zoomed in" after clicking on one of the windows.
This is happening on Lunar Lobster. Upgraded from a fresh install of
Kinetic Kudu with a fresh ISO downloaded today 9 March, 2023.
I ran:
sudo apt install --reinstall gnome-shell ubuntu-desktop gdm3
Reinstall completed successfully but problems persisted after a cold
boot.
Interface has started behaving again for now, but this has happened
through multiple cold boots (reboot menu not reliably responsive
either).
**Expected Behavior:**
Click on application shortcut on the panel, application window opens in
active workspace.
**What Happened Instead:**
Clicked on app icon, spinning wheel or no response at all. Window
sometimes opens but is only visible through Activities overview.
Clicking on window in this view "zooms back in" and hides the window
again.
