I reproduced this problem in 11.10 Oneiric 64-bit by opening the
655-page PDF linked above in Evince and printing to a Postscript file,
then viewing the .ps file in Evince. The on-screen PDF looks fine, as
does Print Preview in Evince. A screenshot of page 5 of the .ps file is
attached.

Title:
Evince fails to properly print pdf files

Status in “evince” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: evince

I've been having a problem with printing a particular pdf file from
Evince. The pdf is opened and displayed correctly but when I want to
print all I get is sheets with only punctuation marks on them. These
punctuation marks correctly correspond to what is in the document but
all the text in between them is missing.

The document is printed correctly from xpdf or from Evince on a Jaunty
  machine.
