I reproduced this problem in 11.10 Oneiric 64-bit by opening the 655-page PDF linked above in Evince and printing to a Postscript file, then viewing the .ps file in Evince. The on-screen PDF looks fine, as does Print Preview in Evince. A screenshot of page 5 of the .ps file is attached.
