Closed as requested although I'm not sure a reboot is ever required when
updating Firefox as it's not been necessary here when using Firefox on
three different Ubuntu releases for several years. Other factors may
have made a reboot necessary as you said there were other updates.

I'm using a status of 'Invalid' as no evidence that Firefox was itself
the cause of the problem that you experienced but thank you for
initially reporting your problem.

** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Invalid

Title:
Firefox will not display youtube videos

Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS
  > uname -a
Linux aorus 5.15.0-58-generic #64~20.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 6 16:42:31 UTC

Today, Feb 22, 2023 I used apt upgrade which included firefox.

Now, when I try a youtube video, for example,
  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0LGUC2GmWU
Firefox hangs, displaying the loading circle.
