Also 44.2 is already in Ubuntu 23.10 and in proposed for 23.04. Please
check to see if 44.2 has fixed the issue.

Remote desktop does not function
Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
When i use the bulit in RDP of gnome it just shows a black screen if I
use VNC I can use it for a few second before it stops responding to
the mouse.
I rolled back to 44.0.2 and now its fine afer reinstalling the whole
shell.
Looking in the fedora comments there was a comment that mutter broke
something in 44.1
