Unable to connect to Google in GCC

Bug description:
At installation of Ubuntu 23.04, and subsequently, when trying to use
Gnome Control Center to connect my Google account in Online Accounts,
I am able to enter my email address, but then the screen freezes in
the transition to the screen where I'd enter my password.
This happens every time.
