It is possible to select the file only when clicking in an area above some (unpredictable) part of the file icon. This is hard to describe so I taped a video of it (two files attached) which I hope explains the problem well. Since taping the video I have not been able to reproduce the problem, even with the same exact two files at the same exact position.
