Public bug reported:
Dear GNOME Remote Desktop Development Team,
I am writing to report a persistent issue I have encountered with GNOME
Remote Desktop on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. The problem manifests as repeated
connection timeouts and errors related to private keys, which result in
the remote desktop service becoming unstable and eventually failing.
Issue Description:
Environment: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS with GNOME Remote Desktop.
Symptoms: After a period of normal operation, the remote desktop connection
becomes unresponsive. The frpc tool logs show a 'dial tcp 127.0.0.1:3389: i/o
timeout' error.
Network Configuration: I am using frpc to forward the 3389 port to my public IP
for remote access. Port scans confirm that port 3389 is open and listening.
Error Logs: The logs indicate repeated errors, such as 'invalid private key',
'peer_recv_callback' failures, and 'transport_check_fds' errors leading to
connection closures.
Temporary Resolution: Restarting the GNOME Remote Desktop service (systemctl
--user restart gnome-remote-desktop) temporarily resolves the issue, but it
reoccurs after some time.
Logs for Reference:
[Include a brief excerpt of the most relevant logs]
Impact:
This issue significantly impacts the reliability of remote access,
necessitating frequent service restarts.
Request:
I kindly request the team to investigate this issue. It seems related to the
handling of network connections and possibly the authentication mechanism
(noted private key errors). Any guidance on temporary workarounds, as well as
permanent fixes, would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. Your work on GNOME Remote
Desktop is invaluable to the community, and I look forward to a
resolution that enhances its stability and usability.
Best regards,
taichu
