Public bug reported:
TLDR: if I right click "copy to..." a large file from trashbin to a
location the actual copy operation hangs the system until it finished
right when you accepted the copy location in the dialog box
verbose explanation:
steps to reproduce:
1. you need to have a large enough file for demonstration purposes. (like an
ubuntu image or something, it's better if the file isn't cached into the
memory, but it's still noticeable if it is)
1. gio trash or otherwise put this file into the trash bin
2. optionally you can reboot here to make sure the file isn't cached
3. open your trash bin
4. right click this file
5. select "copy to ..."
6. select (e.g.) /tmp (or any location with sufficient space) as the destination
7. please notice that the system is responsive before you click the green
select button in the upper right corner of your dialog box
8. click the green select button in the upper right corner of your dialog box
9. try to move the mouse
actual behaviour: please notice that even the mouse cursor is not
responding either. In "optimal" (worst) case the system seems to have
hanged for ~30 seconds (if the file is cached maybe only for 1-2
seconds)
expected behaviour: the system should be responsive.
it's not a real blocker, but scary, I was considering a hard reset.
Thank you for the fix in advance.
