I was able to install the Mint version from https://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/linux/debian/mint/packages/pool/upstream/g/gnome- screenshot/gnome-screenshot_41.0+mint2+vanessa_amd64.deb and it replaced the existing version and does what I want. I guess I need to lock the version.
