What hostname (machine name) is your machine using? Is it longer than 15 chars?

If I open the "Home Folder" icon and click Browse Network I see the NAS at 192.168.1.104 listed by its name "MyWorldBook" but clicking on it pops a dialog "Unable to mount location: Error connecting:Connection Refused" Obviously Nautilus can open the location, it does from the command line.
