Thank you for your bug report. Going through 'otherlocations' or
directly doing ctrl-L /etc shouldn't make a difference. It works fine
here, are you using listview or the iconview? Did you scroll at the end
of the list to check if they are there (the sorting can be counter-
intuitive but here they are listed at the end and not at what would be
their alphabetic order without the leading dot)

Bug description:
In Nautilus, when I go to the file list under
"otherlocations/computer", the hidden files will not display. I have
tried checking the "show hidden files", and the keyboard shortcut
cntl+H , but they don't uncover the hidden file. In the terminal if I
go to say '/etc' and do "ls -a", all the hidden and not hidden files
will show, but the hidden files do not have a period in front of them.
I did submit ubuntu-bug report.
