I just switched from Geary to Thunderbird because Geary is not sending emails reliably for me and the new Thunderbird 115 looks and feels great. I was looking though for this exact feature. I do agree with the speakers before me that this is such an integral feature of an email application that used to be the standard on Linux desktop. Gnome and KDE are the two biggest platforms, of them Gnome is from my knowledge even a bit bigger. The only accounts feature is right there, why not integrate Thunderbird with it? I have my Nextcloud, MS email and work email (exchange) already linked in Gnome, as many others will have too for sure. It would be such a great feature to have them loaded automatically into Firefox. I really think this issue should be prioritised higher and I feel the the fact that this request is 11 years old and people are still commenting here supports that.
