Thank you for your bug report. Do you get any error printed if you start
nautilus from a commandline ? It's supposed to the use desktop portal
for setting the wallpaper so maybe that's not working as expected from
some reason...

can't set picture as desktop wallpaper in nautilus

Bug description:
When right-clicking a picture in nautilus, and then clicking on the
'Set as Background...' option from the menu, it doesn't do anything.
The wallpaper can be changed from the image viewer though.
