Public bug reported:
Under both vanilla Ubuntu 22.04.x and 24.04.1 running Wayland with
native GNOME session, the mouse cursor is captured in a distorted way
when capturing the screen with some applications, for example with OBS
or when screen sharing under Firefox. This happens both, when sharing an
entire screen and also when sharing a single window only.
The desktop is set up with 125% fractional scaling due to the display's
high resolution.
Both applications given as examples above are installed as snap
packages.
When I do a screen video recording via GNOME's built-in screenshot tool,
the mouse cursor is shown correctly.
GNOME version is 46 under Ubuntu 24.04.
