Okay, now I can reproduce it again, not having to switch between
systems.
Starting up thunderbird I see:

When opening a new email window, signatures are not shown.
In the configuration the old "/run/user/2087/doc/e967c83e/mysignature.html",
when opening the file dialog the old path if opened and after selecting the
file again signatures work.
Rebooting the system, link is still
"/run/user/2087/doc/e967c83e/mysignature.html", but since the file doesn't
exist any more (/run/user/... gets cleaned on reboot; iirc) I got no signature
and have to re-select the signature again. (I got 5 different e-mails and
signatures, so this is annoying.)
So seems like the recreation of the /run/user/... files doesn't really
work properly.

Title:
signature stored on a nfs share not working with the snap
Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
We work in workspace with changing pcs. (home folders are in the network)
We migrated from Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Desktop to Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS Desktop.
We use thunderbird 128.1.0esr-1 through snap.
Our signature all lie on an nfs mount (/var/nfs/oeffentlich/emailsignaturen/)
(fstab: nfs.mydomain:/var/nfs /var/nfs nfs4
_netdev,default), where everybody as read access (drwxr-xr-x 1 nobody nogroup
5,3K Aug 28 09:27 emailsignaturen).
After the update, Thunderbird no longer pointed to
"/var/nfs/oeffentlich/emailsignaturen/mysignature.html"
but to "/home/myuser/var/nfs/oeffentlich/emailsignaturen/mysignature.html".
Correcting this to "/var/nfs/oeffentlich/emailsignaturen/mysignature.html" by
directly editing the text, did not show an error, but the signature wasn't
shown.
Using the file open dialog and selecting
"/var/nfs/oeffentlich/emailsignaturen/mysignature.html" Thunderbird / snap
changed the link to:
"/run/user/2087/doc/e967c83e/mysignature.html"
Now the signature is shown, but only as long as I'm on the same pc.
When switching to another PC the linked file isn't there and I again have no
signature.
No clue, whether this is a thunderbird or snap issue, but this is really a
pain!
Would be nice if this could be fixed.
