Thanks for the bug report. Please start by removing all local
extensions:
cd ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/
rm -rf extensions
and then log in again. If the problem persists after that then please
tell us which processes are using the next most CPU.
Also are there any apps that might be rendering constantly (like a web
browser)? That could be expensive since it sounds like it's a VM.
