Thanks for the photos. The incorrect aspect ratio is because it's using
standard BIOS modes early in the boot process that are a different
aspect to that of the display. So ignoring the aspect ratio problem the
rest is bug 2059786.

Most machines in this situation will display the correct resolution.
Some machines in this situation will display the wrong resolution but
still the right aspect (bug 2059786). So the only difference to bug
2059786 here is the aspect, which is unfortunately a consequence of the
early BIOS mode not matching the physical display resolution. That's
arguably a manufacturing quality problem, but you can work around it
using something like:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plymouth/+bug/2059786/comments/2

to go back to the pre-24.04 behaviour. We intentionally don't make the
full graphics driver available early in the boot process to keep it fast
and small. But the consequence of this decision is that a small number
of machines will get a disk unlock prompt that's the wrong size. Because
the right driver to detect the screen resolution hasn't been loaded yet.

Again, most machines don't have this problem because the BIOS will set
the correct resolution before the OS loads. And you can work around it
using the link above.

Title:
  Boot logo displayed in incorrect aspect ratio

Status in plymouth package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
  I've seen this for many years with different Ubuntu versions. Right now on
24.10
  A computer may display "Asus" logo or "Dell" just fine during the GRUB part
of boot. later in the boot, when the "Ubuntu 20 years" logo appears the aspect
ratio of the vendor is horizontally squished.
  Same malformed manufacturer logo is displayed on shutdown.

  note: This never happens on a newly installed system, but seems to appear
after first release upgrade.
  this is not new to 24.10
