Public bug reported:

I am running an Ubuntu 24.04 desktop in qemu mode on a Proxmox
hypervisor, and have installed the Ubuntu released spice-vdagent
0.22.1-4build3.

When the display is resized away from 1280x800 (by resizing the screen
with "Auto Resize" enabled in the Ubuntu packaged virt-viewer
11.0-3build2) I get the message in the systemd unit:

`spice-vdagentd[1834]: invalid message size for VDAgentMonitorsConfig"`

I found [this debian bug report](https://bugs-devel.debian.org/cgi-
bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=993432) which seems to suggest this may be a known
and understood issue, but it doesn't look like it went anywhere.

I'm happy to provide any testing required - it's not mission critical
(it's for a machine I use to support a family member) but it is
annoying, and I would like to improve things where I can. Just point me
at whatever you need!

```
jon@ubuntu:~$ lsb_release -rd
```

I would expect that when resizing the screen above 1280x800, or under
1280x800, it would resize to that resolution, but instead I get a scaled
window at a maximum of 1280x800 and a reported error in the journal. I
am unable to change the resolution in the display options under the
Ubuntu Settings application.
