Installed gnome-shell{,-common}=46.0-0ubuntu6~24.04.6 from noble-
proposed in Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTSVerified that $ notify-send 'summary' 'Some bold text with a tag!' correctly renders the bold text. Verified that $ notify-send 'summary' 'Some bold text with a < tag!' is handled gracefully, however I found it weird that the '<' is rendered verbatim and not as a '<'. That doesn't happen when the tag gets closed. Anyways, not really an issue and definitely not a regression. Also verified what Julian was saying, that it is indeed already fixed in oracular. ** Tags removed: verification-needed verification-needed-noble ** Tags added: verification-done verification-done-noble -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2084293 Title: HTML markup is not properly rendered in notification body Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in gnome-shell source package in Noble: Fix Committed Bug description: [ Impact ] Notifications support markup, but this is not properly rendered in GNOME shell [ Test case ] From a terminal run: $ notify-send 'summary' 'Some bold text with a tag!' A notification should show with this content (where text between asterisks is in bold): Some *bold text* with a tag! Ensure that $ notify-send 'summary' 'Some bold text with a < tag!' is handled gracefully, that is, doesn't crash.
