Public bug reported:
Title: False "Degraded: high-operating-temperature" message despite
normal temperatures
Description:
I'm experiencing a false warning about high temperatures on Lenovo IdeaPad
L340-17IRH Gaming laptop.
System details:
- Laptop: Lenovo IdeaPad L340-17IRH Gaming
- CPU: Intel Core i7-9750H
- Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS
Issue:
1. System shows "Degraded: high-operating-temperature" message in performance
mode
2. Actual temperatures are well within normal range:
- CPU: 44-50°C (limit: 100°C)
- NVMe: 42.9°C (limit: 80.8°C)
- PCH: 53.0°C
Steps to reproduce:
1. Set performance profile: powerprofilesctl set performance
2. Message appears despite normal temperatures
Attached command outputs:
$sensors

Adapter: Virtual device
temp1: +53.0°C
nvme-pci-0600
Adapter: PCI adapter

This appears to be a false positive as temperatures are far from any
critical limits.
