In short:
Fresh install of 24 LTS causes internal speakers of Laptops with Intel
WhiskeyLake-U (i915) to not recognize the Hardware/Sound Sink.
This issue was not existing up until 22 LTS with using
PipeWire/Wireplumber (maybe Ubuntu 23 works too, I never tried).
Even when upgrading from 22 LTS to 24 LTS the issue persists, so it
clearly is with the Kernel Packages for Firmware/Modules.
Opening f.e. Alsamixer, the HDA Intel SND / Realtek ALC236 is
recognized. As the internal Microphone works as Source, I am baffled why
the internal speakers as sinks wont be recognized.
