Public bug reported:
After updating to Ubuntu 24.04, fprintd fails to start with the
following error:
/usr/libexec/fprintd: symbol lookup error: /usr/libexec/fprintd:
undefined symbol: fp_device_suspend_finish, version LIBFPRINT_2.0.0
Steps to reproduce:
1. Install `fprintd` and `libfprint-2-2` on Ubuntu 24.04
2. Run `sudo systemctl restart fprintd`
3. Observe that the service fails to start
Expected behavior:
fprintd should start without errors and allow fingerprint authentication.
System information:
- Ubuntu 24.04 (Run `lsb_release -a`)
- Installed packages (Run `dpkg -l | grep -E "fprintd|libfprint"`)
- Kernel version (Run `uname -r`)
