Public bug reported: When I try to scan using simplescan application everytime I scan I get an error that the document feeder is empty, despite my scanner not having a feeder, but just a flatbed. Running simplescan --debug shows that 'flatbed' is selected as source. Initially I thought this was a bug with simplescan itself, but it turned out to be a problem in libsane itself. The following upstream issue describes the symptoms:
https://gitlab.com/sane-project/backends/-/issues/654 And it turns out the following upstrema patch actually fixes it, verified it by building a local libsane package with the patch applied: https://gitlab.com/sane-project/backends/-/merge_requests/788 Please include it in an updated package for Ubuntu Noble. ** Affects: sane-backends (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to sane-backends in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2107342 Title: scanner not working with sane 1.2.1 Status in sane-backends package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: When I try to scan using simplescan application everytime I scan I get an error that the document feeder is empty, despite my scanner not having a feeder, but just a flatbed.
