It could be a hypervisor (like HyperV?) that doesn't support any other accelerated DRM drivers. But comment #2 also reminds me that it could be bug 2084046 making Mutter mistakenly think there are two GPUs, one of which would indeed use LLVMpipe.
I think bug 2084046 is the main issue to focus on here. We shouldn't be worrying about bug 2095456 when there is only really one GPU. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2095456 Title: gnome-shell crashed with SIGSEGV in meta_drm_buffer_ensure_fb_id() from meta_onscreen_native_swap_buffers_with_damage() from cogl_onscreen_swap_buffers_with_damage() from swap_framebuffer() Status in Mutter: Fix Released Status in mutter package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in mutter source package in Noble: Triaged Bug description: The Ubuntu Error Tracker has been receiving reports about a problem regarding gnome-shell.
