It seems GTalk/Jabber indicates just the first message and then do not notify new messages arrive. Empathy chat window is active however has no window manager focus or may be minimized. The quick note bubble on the right-top corner appears with the text of new message however no indication in applet. Unity 3D on 11.10 + oneiric-proposed updates.
