  Plugging a known mic does not select it automatically

Status in Gnome Settings Daemon:

Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

  On Lucid

  1) Plug a mic
  2) Select it in the "input" tab of the ubuntu Sound Preferences  -> you can 
see it is recognized (the bars move)
  3) Unplug the mic
  4) Plug it again

  RESULT : the mic is not selected automatically, you need to manually
  select it again in the Sound Preferences

  EXPECTED RESULT : the mix is selected automatically
