Title:
Incorrect xrandr error notification when changing monitor setup
Status in Gnome Settings Daemon:
Fix Released
Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon
I have a laptop (Thinkpad X301) which I connect to an external monitor
in some locations, and poke Fn-F7 on it to make it notice the new
display configuration. It has an Intel X4500MHD graphics chip, and two
external display connectors - VGA and DisplayPort.
With either VGA or DisplayPort, the Fn-F7 action triggers exactly correct
setup for the displays, it will extend my desktop onto the second monitor with
the correct resolution and frequency.
This is, obviously, fantastic.
For some reason it then displays an error notification saying "could
not set the configuration for CRTC 58" (or 57 in the case of VGA).
