Sidebars are meant to be easy ways to access a folder, and as such, do not get
the same context menu entries as the primary view; this is not a bug.

Title:
"Format" menu is too hidden away

Status in Nautilus:
  Unknown
Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
Right now, it's hard to get to the "Computer" menu because it's too
hidden (Menu bar -> Go -> Computer) to format a disk. This option
should be accessible by right click at the disk's name, at Nautilus'
  the left panel.
