This problem still exists in precise and may have something to do with
the path that is returned by the file save dialog. For example, if you
double-click a libreoffice file in nautilus, it is possible to make
edits and save the file again. Files opened in this way use a path that
goes through "/home/$USER/.gvfs/sftp on servername". It also possible to
save new files by navigating to the .gvfs folder rather than using the
"sftp on servername" link in the file dialog. What fails are any saves
that use the 'sftp on servername' shortcut. I suspect that this is
because in this case libreoffice gets an
"sftp://servername/path/to/file"; link, instead of a local file path that
goes through the .gvfs folder, and it doesn't know how to handle it.

Title:
Cannot save to sftp folder, saying "Object not accessible"

Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When I try to save a new LibreOffice Calc document, to an sftp folder, I see
an error dialogs that say:
  "
  Error saving the document Unitled1:

  The object cannot be accessed
  due to insufficient user rights.
  "

I see the same problem in LibreOffice Writer, but only when trying to
