Locked computer shows last screen for a moment

Bug description:
When I'm away from my Ubuntu laptop for a while the screen becomes
black (I think it powers down) as expected. If then I move the mouse
or hit any key the last screen is shown for about one to two seconds
(I think depending on the workload of the machine) before the password
prompt is displayed. This allows strangers to retrieve confidential
information even from a screen locked computer.
Obviously, the expected behaviour is to not show the last screen but
display the password prompt immediately.
