I looked at this some today. First, the developers haven't released an
extensions tarball for 3.3.

More importantly, the current version of Epiphany in Precise doesn't
even support extensions but that may be a temporary omission. You may
want to follow https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=669951if
you're interesting in getting notified when this is fixed.

Bug description:
  When trying to install the "gnome" metapackage a dependency on
  "epiphany-extensions" fails due to the following :

  The following packages have unmet dependencies:
   gnome : Depends: epiphany-extensions (>= 3.0) but it is not going to be 
installed

  When I check why by doing an "apt-get install epiphany-extensions",
  this is the cause :

  The following packages have unmet dependencies:
   epiphany-extensions : Depends: epiphany-browser (< 3.3) but 3.3.5-0ubuntu1 
is to be installed
