The relatively same problem in Precise : the key binding through G-C-C or CCSM->Gnome->launch terminal (apparently the corresponding entry) , just don't work . A custom key binding in ccsm of course works (for gnome-terminal) , since there is no problem with the app itself . My system is up to date for the record .

I launched the keybinding GUI and typed Alt-F1 for this action and it read my keys as Alt-XF86Battery. It nevertheless worked after that. Next time I booted/logged in, same problem, but this time after resetting it again, the key combination Alt-F1 still does nothing. IT seems somthing is quite corrupted with the key-bindings.
