Well, the main thing is that bug 588909 conveniently caused bug 728610, otherwise it's questionable if this would have been implemented so quickly, especially given the new rapid-release system which renders a lot of the discussion on the previous branch-based reasoning stated here moot to some extent... correct? ;-)

Also the Gecko version could be made a bit more generic.
