Title:
I can configure extra keys on my Sony laptop for launching
applications, but when I press them nothing happens
Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon
My Sony Vaio laptop has two extra keys for launching applications,
marked "S1" and "S2". The operating system recognizes them as I can
assign these keys to functions with "System" -> "Preferences" ->
"Keyboard Shortcuts". For example I click on "Launch e-mail client"
and then the name of the selected shortcut turns to "New shortcut...".
Then I press <S1> and this gets recognized as the name of the
shortcuts turns to "XF86Launch1" then. <S2> gives "XF86Launch2". After
closing the dialog and I press the <S1> and <S2> keys and nothing
happens. The assigned applications do not get started.
