Title:
gedit crashes while starting with segfault in libgio

Status in “gedit” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  1) Ubuntu 11.10
  2) gedit 3.2.3-0ubuntu0.1

  3) What I expect: I start gedit and expect to open an empty document

4)What happens instead: gedit crashes before showing gui (short
flickering indicates that the window is starting to open before the
  crash).

  Additional information:
  - syslog says:
  kernel: [ 7608.270682] gedit[4777]: segfault at 0 ip 00907cbb sp bf805030
error 4 in libgio-2.0.so.0.3000.0[86f000+142000]
  - the problem started after i installed/activated various plugins
  - deleting ~/.gnome2/gedit AND ~/.local/share/gedit AND
/usr/local/share/gedit didn't solve the problem
  - reinstalling gedit /gedit-common / gedit-plugins packages didn't solve the
problem
  - deleting the libgio-2.0... prevents gedit completely form starting, even no
syslog message

Thank you very much for your efforts. Is anything else I can do to
  trace the problem?
