  add toolbar commands pane shrinks, disappears

Bug description:
  OS: Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric stable 32-bit
  Application: LibreOffice Writer 3.5.0 Build ID: 350m1(Build:13)

  See attached image.
  Steps to reproduce:
  1. Go to Tools > Customise > Toolbars, and click Add.
  2. Move to a toolbar that does not have enough elements to fill the pane, 
e.g. Data. Now back to something that has, e.g. Application.
  3. Keep switching between toolbars.
  4. Watch the commands pane gradually shrink and then disappear.
