I also tested this using evince version 3.3.90-0ubuntu2 on Precise and
was unable to recreate the bug when running compiz. A sample pdf would
help here.

Title:
Evince freezes when opening menu with F10 key

Status in “evince” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
TESTCASE: any .pdf file, using Unity+compiz on Ubuntu 11.10 64 bit,
  any video driver.

I was reading a PDF file when suddenly F10 key was pressed; the whole
desktop except mouse pointer froze. Fortunately I was able to switch
to console using Alt-F{1-7}. After killing evince, desktop is usable
again. I was able to reproduce this bug using nvidia and intel driver,
using single and dual monitor configuration.
