Title:
Brightness resets to FULL whenever I start ubuntu

Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
the Brightness setting in 11.10 resets to full-brightness every time I
start ubuntu. Every time I start ubuntu I have to go into settings
again and reduce the Brightness output by half.

How do you get Ubuntu to KEEP what settings you set in the Brightness
  settings?
