Bug description:
Binary package hint: libvte-common
Under Ubuntu 8.10 Gnome-terminal and xfce-terminal incorrectly render
devanagari script. Gedit (with the same font) renders the same text
correctly. See example in screenshot. Using libvte 0.17.4-0ubuntu1.
(Font is Liberation Mono in both applications).
