Title:
Xchat freezes while trying to list freenode channels.

Status in “xchat-gnome” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xchat-gnome

  1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or
  System -> About Ubuntu.

I'm using: Ubuntu Intrepid latest revision.

  2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy
packagename' or by checking in Synaptic.

  The version is:
    Installed: 1:0.24.0-0ubuntu1
    Candidate: 1:0.24.0-0ubuntu1
    Version table:
   *** 1:0.24.0-0ubuntu1 0
          500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

  3) What you expected to happen.

  I expected:

  1. Start Xchat.
  2. Connect to freenode.
  3. Open to list channels.
  4. List of all channels on FreeNode to show.

  4) What happened instead

  1. Start Xchat.
  2. Connect to freenode.
  3. Open to list channels.
  4. Screen turns white and Xchat-gnome is not responsive. Simply it is just
white, remains white.

  Possible though:

Seems that too many channels overload Xchat-Gnome.
