Title:
unity 3d display switch does not work
Status in Unity:
Invalid
Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
I upgraded to Ubuntu Oneiric Ocelot beta1
The default desktop was unity 3d. I have an Alienware M15x with an
Nvidia card and I use nvidia-settings for switching my display to a
monitor connected to my VGA port.
When I enable by monitor (on the VGA adaptor) using unity (3d), the
display blanks out or some garbled display appears. After 15 seconds,
things reset and are back to normal.
Switching display works well if I fallback to unity 2d. (at the login
prompt)
