Space bar does not pause in non-fullscreen mode

Bug description:
With totem 1.4.1-0ubuntu4:
When playing a media file in totem, when not in fullscreen mode, pressing
space does not pause. Instead, it seems to 'highlight' the volume control, but
does not appear to do anything useful. When in fullscreen mode, hitting space
does pause the playback, which I think is the expected behavior (this is how
many other media players work - ie mplayer, vlc, etc.)
