Bug description:
unity 5.4.0+bzr1997ubuntu0+652
bamf 0.2.110-0ubuntu1
1. start an app that is not pinned to the launcher
2. notice its icon in the launcher as if its not in the current workspace
i.e. the '>'
3. now alt-tab and see the app is not shown in the switcher
