update: today i've shifted my pc 10 inches and placed one antenna onto
the metal frame of my desk, and the other one layed down on the floor,
for some reason i was able to manage a stable 1,4MB/s connection for
over an hour after that speed dropped again.... maybe 20 inches will do
it?

Title:
network speed drops after a certain amount of time

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I cannot access the internet in any way until I reconnect with my
access point, after reconnection I only have about 40 seconds to
download/upload stuff or the speed will drop to 800 bytes a second.
the pc reports i'm still connected, but I cannot load any page or
download anything. this is only the case with THIS computer (linksys
WMP600N dual-band PCI network card) it didn't happen before the 12.04
upgrade and it DOES happen with a different wireless adaptor, although
my laptop (also ubuntu 12.04) doesn't have this issue.

i've added a picture of my system-monitor showing the network speeds
  just after (re)connection
