Title:
Network Manager Does Not Load With Kerberos Login

Status in NetworkManager:
  Invalid
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: network-manager

When logging in to gnome using kerberos authentication (set up
  following the tutorial here: http://www.alittletooquiet.net/text
/kerberos-on-ubuntu/), network manager does not load. If the kerberos
password is set differently to the local password, then a logon with
the local password will load network manager, but it does not load
when logging on with the kerberos password.

  `uname -a`:
  Linux gecko 2.6.32-22-generic #36-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jun 3 19:31:57 UTC 2010
x86_64 GNU/Linux

  `lsb_release -lb`:
  Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
  Release: 10.04

  `apt-cache policy krb5-user network-manager-gnome`:
  krb5-user:
    Installed: 1.8.1+dfsg-2
    Candidate: 1.8.1+dfsg-2
    Version table:
   *** 1.8.1+dfsg-2 0
          500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
  network-manager-gnome:
    Installed: 0.8-0ubuntu3
    Candidate: 0.8-0ubuntu3
    Version table:
   *** 0.8-0ubuntu3 0
          500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

  Expected result:
network manager will load for logins to a kerberos authentication provider.

  What actually happened:
  network manager did not load.
